Description
Brassica oleracea capitata
A lovely quick growing cabbage with the “sugarloaf” shape. In older times sugar was sold on cone shapes called loaves, this cabbage takes its name from the similar shape. Loves improved soil and will do well in the cooler spring and autumn months.
This specific cabbage is unique to South Africa and can be traced back to the original gardens established by Jan van Riebeek / VOC to provide passing ships with fresh produce.
For those looking for a unique South African heirloom cabbage, this is it.
Standard packet contains approx. 200 seeds
